WHAT IS ACE?

ACE is a cognitive aptitude test that measures a person's maximum logical and analytical ability. The test is adaptive, meaning it adjusts based on the individual’s ability to answer the questions.

ACE is a so-called G-factor test, which assesses a person’s general mental ability. Standardized tests that measure the G-factor are among the most effective methods for identifying a person’s potential to perform.

DIFFERENT ITEMS IN ACE

The three most effective ways to measure the G-factor are through a combination of numerical, verbal, and spatial questions:

  • Numerical questions assess numerical ability and require no more knowledge than what is typically learned at the high school level. These tasks involve solving problems presented in text form that require proficiency in the four basic arithmetic operations.
  • Verbal questions may consist of word pairs that need to be matched with another pair, where one word is missing, or they may involve a more detailed text that requires understanding and identifying relationships between pieces of information. No specific vocabulary knowledge is needed for these questions.
  • Spatial questions involve analyzing graphical figures, where you are presented with a pattern of eight figures and must choose one of five alternatives that best fits the pattern.
