WHAT IS OPTO?
OPTO means "I choose" in Latin and is a normative personality test based on the Five-Factor Model (Big 5). OPTO consists of 154 statements that are rated on a seven-point scale. These 154 statements measure 20 aspects, which are grouped into eight dimensions. These eight dimensions cover key areas related to People, Work, and Exploration. OPTO correlates with performance, making it suitable for use as a performance filter (also known as screening). It can be used in various types of processes and at different stages of the recruitment process.

SPOTLIGHT IN OPTO
The 154 statements in OPTO are presented in a carousel format, where each statement is rated on a seven-point scale, from "very untrue" to "very true." The test taker responds to one statement at a time in a group of seven.
If the test taker assigns the same rating to one or more statements within this group of seven, they will be asked to rearrange the responses so that no statement has the same rating as another within the group. The system will record the test taker's initial response, which is the score that will be reflected in the reports for each aspect. Afterward, it will register how the responses are rearranged. Typically, the responses shift left or right, but if the test taker consistently shifts their responses in the same direction four times or more, a "Spotlight" occurs.
A Spotlight indicates that the person may have a less fixed position in that particular behavioral aspect, which could suggest that they adapt their behavior to a greater degree. The core behavior is tied to the initial score, but the adaptation follows the direction indicated by the arrow. To explore this further, ask the candidate additional questions.
